DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSE} WORKS
<br />The pnrposed work include a toal ofup to 100 wells, supplying up fo 1,000 gallons per minuie (gllm) ofwater for domestic supply for up
<br />to 145 residences, using al average of350 gallors per residence per day year-round, and irdgating up to 500 square feet (sq. ft.) per
<br />residence for a total of 1.664 irigated acres. The wells and places of use will be within the place of use desclibed above. This descnbes
<br />the total system and total water quantities and development authorized for this Swauk Watel Bank, in sum, utilizing dio eight (8) different
<br />groundwater sources ofsupply, under authority of8 permils, G4-35541-G4-35548.
<br />The authorized place of we is orvned by multiple private landowners. The intention of the combined applicants .is to obtain permib
<br />authorizing the use ofpublic groundwater in the requested amounts to be mjtigated by a portion ofthe 1877 First Creek Water Users
<br />Association water right. The l8?7 water rights provide water budget neutality, required by WAC 173-539A, for up to 145 nelv domestic
<br />uses within the defined portion ofthe Srvauk Creek subbasin.

<br />Because Groundwater finit t 1C+-:SSat) urd Groundwater Unit 2 (G4-35542) are marginal in nature, it is rccommended dru wells be
<br />located as far ftom each ofthese units' westem outer boundaries as possible. A minimum 100-foot spacing fiom existing wells is required
<br />in Units I and 2.
<br />Welis drilted grgg[ Groundwater Unit 3 (G4-35543) and into underlying Croundwater Unit 2 shall be requird at minimu$, to have a
<br />solid casing through Unit 3. Tlre location and construction of any well proposed within the E%SWIA of Section 34,
<br />1'. 20 N., R-l 7 E.Wlvl. must receive specific prior review and written approval ftom the Departrnont of Eccilory to ensure that water levels
<br />within Unit 3 in the vicinig ofthe Dunford and McCallum Springs will not be lowered by pumping from the new well.
<br />Wells drilled lltgggb Groundwater Unit 4 (G4:35544)and into an underlying unit shall be requked, at minimunr, to have a solid casing
<br />through Unit 4. A minimum 1O0-foot spachg from existing wells is required within the Unit 4 boundaries.

<br />io a deptb identifiedby the Depaltlnent ofEcologytechnical staffduring consultation prior lo drilling.
<br />Groundwater Unit 5 (G4-35545) has regiors where wells will encounter significant clays and likely r,esult in low yield and slow recovery
<br />wells. Additiomlly, ilnit 5 has areas ofperched and fiin saturated thicknesses. Therefore, a minimum 100-foot spacing from existing
<br />wells is required in Unit 5. Ifnew water users are not able to succcssfutly develop a well in Unit 5, they may instead _constdeldrilling into
<br />an underling grorndwatef unit, which depending on location, may be Unit 7 (G4-35547, central and north), Units I or 2 (south and
<br />southeast)orunitS(G4-35548,norttr). SuchwellsshallberequiredtohaveasolidcasingthroughUnit5.

<br />Conslruction and Maintenance of Wells" and RCW 18.104, titled *Water Well Constuction-" Any well which is unnable, abandoned, or
<br />whose use has been permanently discontinued, or which is in such disrepair thet its continued use is impractical or is an environmental'
<br />safety or pubtic health hazard, shall be decommissioned-
