Wcll Construction Requiremenls
Beeause Groundwater Unit I (G4-35541) and Gloundwater Unit 2 (G+35542) are marginal in nature, it is recommended that wells be
located as far from each of these units' westem outer boundaries as possible. A minimum I 00-foot spacing *om existing wells is requircd
inUnib I and2.
Wells drilled lbfOlgb Groundwater Unit 3 (G,{-35543) and into underlying Groundwaler Uait 2 shall be required, at ninimurn, to have a
solid casing tuough Unit 3, lAe location and constustion of any well proposed within the E%SW7< of Sedion 34,
T, 20 N,,IL 17 E.W.M. must receive speoific prior review and written approval fom the Deparftrent ofBcologl to ensure that water levels
within Unit 3 in tire vicinity of the Dunford and McCallum Springs will not be lowered by pumping ftom the new well.
We[s dril$ lbfgsgh Grouridwater Unit 4 (G4-355a4) and into an rmderlying mit shall be require4 at minimum, to have a solid casing
through Unit 4. A minirnum 100-foot spacing from existing wells is required within the Unit 4 boundaries.
Witlrin the Unit 4 boundaries, specifically from fie soutlrcm o<tent of Hidden Valley in the NW% of Section 33, T' 20 N., B- 17 E.W.M.,
north to the northem boundary ofthe proposed place ofuse for these eight pennit applications in the S% ofSection 22 and extending into
the SW% of Section 23, T.20 N., R. 17 E.W.M.
Wells drilled !!gg! Unit 4 into underlying goundwater units shall be cased and sealed a minimum of 100 fept inm the underlying unit or
to a dep$r identified by the Departrnent gfBcologr technical staffduring consultationprior to drilling
Groundwater Unit 5 (C4-35545) has regions where wells will encounter sipificant clays and likely result in low yield and slow recovery
wells. Additionally, Unit 5 has areas of perched and rhin saturated thicknesses. Therefore, a minimurn 100-foot spacing from existing
wells is required in Unit 5. Ifnew water users arc trot able to successfuliy dsvelop a well in Unit 5, they may instead consider drilling into
an underlying groundwater ud! which depending on locaiion, may be Unit 7 (G+35547, centzl and norft), Units I or 2 (south and
southeast) or Unit 8 (c4-3554S, north). Such wells shall be required to have a solid casing thro%h Unit 5.
