1. Permanent dead-end roadways in excess of 600 feet from the centerline intersection of <br />another county or private road are discouraged and shall only be allowed with the approval <br />of the County Engineer in cases where geographical, topographic, or environmental <br />conditions preclude connections with other roads. <br />!eRgth tUFRaFE)Und featuFes aFe GGRStFUEted With RE) MGM than 300 feet of separation-. <br />B. Where a public or private road transitions to a gated private road, the road shall be considered a dead <br />end, and shall require a turnaround within 150 feet of the gate and within 600 feet of the centerline <br />intersection of another county or private road consistent with these standards. <br />C. Approved turnaround features shall be constructed at the termination or within one hundred and fifty <br />feet of the termination of any shared residential driveway or commercial driveway approach. Where <br />the length exceeds one thousand feet, pull out and turnaround features shall be provided as follows: <br />1. Pull out features shall be constructed to a minimum of eighteen feet of total width (lane plus <br />widening) and a minimum fifty feet in length, and will have no more than six hundred feet <br />separation, <br />12.04.04.090 One Way Road. <br />One Way Roads may be considered for public and private roads. All one-way roads are subject to approval <br />by the County Engineer. Road network shall be sufficient to provide ingress and egress. Roadway design to <br />meet minimum private road standards. Applicable signing shall be installed as per MUTCD. <br />12.04.04.100 Railroad Grade Crossings. <br />All proposed railroad crossings shall be coordinated, submitted, and subject to the approval process of the <br />affected railroad right of way owner. Kittitas County approvals shall be contingent upon the submission <br />of documented final approvals from all affected railroad agencies. At the time of publication of these <br />standards, Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) is the only railroad operating in Kittitas County. <br />12.04.04.110 Emergency Access Roads. <br />Emergency access roads, if they are deemed necessary for a particular development, shall be constructed <br />with an all-weather surface to adequately support the proposed loads of emergency vehicles. <br />Requirements and design of such roads is site specific and will require coordination between the <br />developer/applicant, public works, and area fire districts. <br />The following specific requirements shall apply to the design and construction of emergency access roads: <br />A.
