A
staff member or security personnel monitors the entrance, ensuring only registered guests, staff,
volunteers, and authorized visitors can enter. This process limits unauthorized entry and ensure
that only registered individuals are present in the facility.
Overnight Securitv Personnel: CWS employs overnight security personnel, onsite from 10:00 PM
to 6:00 AM, to monitor the shelter, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to any safety issues.
Security staff are trained in de-escalation techniques and coordinate with law enforcement when
necessary. Provide round-the-clock security, particularly during the night, to ensure the shelter
remains safe and incidents are addressed promptly.
De-escalation Training for Staff and Volunteers: Action: All staff and volunteers are trained in de-
escalation techniques and trauma-informed care, enabling them to address situations involving
conflict or heightened emotions effectively. These techniques include non-violent
communication, active listening, and calming strategies. This equips staff and volunteers with the
skills to handle conflicts or disruptive behavior safely and calmly.
lncident Reporting and Documentation: Staff and security personnel are required to complete an
incident report for any security issue, such as disruptive behavior, theft, or physical altercations.
These reports are reviewed by the Program Manager, and appropriate follow-up is conducted,
including discussions with guests or further action as needed.
Personal Belongings and Secure Storage: Secure storage areas are available for guests to store
their belongings to prevent loss or theft.
