11/18/2024 MINUTES 2 <br />APPOINTMENT FAIR BOARD – BEN KOKJER COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve the appointment of Ben Kokjer <br />for a three-year term to the Kittitas County Fair Board, effective <br />immediately and to end 12/31/2025, Commissioner Wright seconded. <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BRAD AND BURKE – MORRIS SORENSON COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Board signature on a <br />Professional Services Agreement with Brad and Burke to replace the <br />HVAC system at the Morris Sorenson Building, as presented. <br />Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />LETTER CITY OF ELLENSBURG – MAYOR COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Board signature on a letter <br />of support to the City of Ellensburg, for the Palouse to Cascades <br />Reconnection Project and Bike Access Program. Commissioner Wright <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION 2025 EXEMPT SALARY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Bryan Elliott, Auditor, alerted the Board of concerns expressed by <br />Payroll from the recent decision the Board made to allow the latest <br />17 employees moving from exempt to non-exempt, to retain their leave <br />accruals. He said it is a nightmare for Staff, as it has to be done <br />manually. He provided several options for them to consider. The <br />Board asked for time to consider the options and to add it to the <br />Office Admin Meeting for decision on 11/25/2024 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Jeanne Killgore, HR Director reviewed some issues with the latest <br />decision the Board made where they allowed one Administrative <br />Supervisor to remain Exempt and the impacts on the other <br />Administrative Supervisors in the County and the concern for <br />discrimination. She provided some options for the Board to consider. <br />The Board asked for time to consider and also requested that she <br />bring the topic back during the BoCC Office Admin Meeting on <br />11/25/2024 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board determined that for the week of November 18, 2024, they <br />would post the following on their Facebook page: Barb Demory’s <br />Retirement and The Courthouse Closure for the Thanksgiving Holiday. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis for the year.
