B. Medical ancl mental health services are being enhanced in I(CJ, rvhioh will he$ olfset many <br />costs for the Cify in ternrs of medical bills by reducing the need for outside tleatment- These <br />investments stroild l<eep outsicle ureclical costs lower The County has irtroduced a full-time <br />mental health counsclor and is starling a grant f,rnded medically assisred drug b'eatment <br />progfam. <br />C. tf the Courty becomes alvare that a City Prisoner is in need of medical health care requiring <br />the assistance of a rnedical health care services provider outside of the Kittitas County Jail, <br />thcn the Cgunty shall make reasonable eflfort to notify the City prior to obtaining said service, <br />lf the City is coltactecl ancl does not authorize the Cr:rrnty to obtain the service, then the Citli <br />shall, witiin four (4) hours, pick up tlre inrnate fionr the County to transpott to medical care' <br />provlded, in the case of emeigency, the County may notiff the City after the service has been <br />provided. <br />D. An adequate recor4 of all such services shatl be kept by the County for the Clty's. review at <br />iis requist, to the extent consistent with confidentiality regulations. Any medical or dental <br />services of major consequence shall be reported to the City as sooll as tiu:e permits. <br />E. Should medioal, psychiatric or dental services require hospitalizntion, the City agrees to <br />componsate rhe County clollat for dollar any amount expended or cost inulued in providing <br />the sarne; provided that" except in emergetrcies, the City will be notified by contacting tlre <br />cluty supervisor at dre City prior to the prisoner's_ trausfer to a hospital, if and when <br />cirCrrmsiances allow, or as soon aftenvard as practicable' <br />F. In the event a City Prisoner is being helcl on acklitional charges from another contracted <br />jurisdiction (includlng but not lirniteJto, Kittitas PD, South Cle Elum PD, Cle Elutn PD, and <br />-Ellensburg pD, Wasliington State Pah'ol, Central Washington University PD, Kittitas County <br />Sherifps Oftice;, the CiIy's responsibility fot medical costs attributable to that prisoner shall <br />be no greater dran that of the other jurisdiction(s). <br />G. Uporr payment ro the Corurty by the City for a CjlV Ptisoner's health care expense, the- Ci"nty will asslgn to the City, if rcquested by the Cify, any and all right to teimbursenrent <br />tor medical expenses authorized under RCW 70.48.130' <br />I{. The City agrees to pay directly or reimburse the County for any and all medical expenses? as <br />tlefined in Sectiou ViA, iucuired for City Prisoners and persons anested by of on behalf of <br />the Ciry, whioh are not performed by rnedical staff on contract rvith the County within the <br />Kinitas County Jail, or paid by the Departrnent of Social and Hcalth Services, including <br />mectical. psychiatrir, ani clental bills ai r,r,ell as presoription rnedication expenses.
