The overnight shift will be staffed by third party security. <br />• Shelter security will be making rounds throughout the facility. <br />• Maintain the Logbook - The shelter logbook should be used to note any actions or incidents that <br />happen during your shift. Security patrols, guest incidents and any other activity should be noted <br />in the log with the time of each incident. <br />• Report any serious rule violations to staff, as well as ensure quiet hours are being respected. <br />■ Turnover paperwork and keys. Brief the morning shift as well as Shelter Coordinator on any <br />incidents or special conditions. <br />Morning Shift (7:00 AM — 9:00 AM) <br />• The third shift will be responsible for closing the shelter and cleaning up. <br />• Perform first wake up at 7:00 AM and second wake up at 7:30 for an 8:00 AM checkout. <br />• Perform intake for late arriving guests that are brought in by law enforcement or that arrive <br />with hospital pass. <br />• Prepare coffee and the morning snack for guest to take with them as they leave or eat at the <br />shelter. <br />• Return all tote items to the correct guest by checking names and ticket numbers. <br />• As each guest departs, they are to sign out on the Shelter Guest Sign -In Sheet. <br />• All belongings must leave with the guest. There should not be any totes remaining at the close <br />of the shift. <br />• Maintain the Logbook -The shelter logbook should be used to note any actions or incidents that <br />happen during your shift. Security patrols, guest incidents and any other activity should be noted <br />in the log with the time of each incident. <br />■ Staff reserve the right to trespass guests that repeatedly or seriously violate shelter rules; these <br />individuals names will be highlighted in the guidebook. <br />• Maintain regular communications with the Shelter Coordinator. Provide shelter information, <br />and discuss supply needs, problems, and plans. <br />• Ensure that shelter guests are receiving updated information about the weather and resources <br />available to them. Several different service guides can be provided to shelter guests as needed. <br />• Routinely inspect the safety and sanitation of the facility and ensure that health standards and <br />guest's needs are being met. <br />Ensure the building is clean and all trash has been picked up. <br />■ Clean up the general area. <br />• Clean and stow all shelter items including mats, snack supplies and any other items. <br />• Ensure the area is cleared and secured. <br />
