In accordance with RCW 36.17.024, the Board may
appoint members to the two remaining vacancies. Commissioner
Osiadacz moved to appoint Phil Backlund and Pat Deneen to the two
vacancies on the Citizens’ Commission on Salaries for County
Commissioners. Commissioner Wachsmith seconded the motion. Motion
was approved; 2:0.

DISCUSSION Other Business HR

Director Killgore advised the Board that EaseCentral, the County’s
benefits administration portal, has been purchased by another
company. The change in ownership has negatively impacted the flow of
benefits information from EaseCentral to the County’s various
benefits carriers. The County’s benefits broker, Alliant, has
recommended moving away from EaseCentral to a platform called
Employee Navigator for benefits administration. The HR Department
will begin to transition to the new administration portal over the
next few months. The Board had no concerns about the transition.
