Boys and Girls Club of Kittitas County
under the guidance of the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia Basin
Exhibit B - Fact Sheet
What is the Boys and Girls Club?
Throughout our 160+ year history, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has enabled young people most in need
to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Today, more than 5,000 Club
locations serve 3.6 million young people through Club membership and community outreach. Clubs are
located in cities, towns, public housing and on Native lands throughout the country, and serve military
families in BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers on U.S. military installations worldwide. None currently exist in
Central Washington.

Clubs provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development
programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Club programs promote academic success,
good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. In a Harris Survey of alumni, 54 percent said the
Club saved their lives. National headquarters are in Atlanta.
What is the Mission of the Boys and Girls Club of America?
Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full
potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Where will the Boys and Girls Club of Kittitas County be held?
The first school-based site will be held in the modulars at Kittitas Elementary. The plan is to expand to
other school-based sites throughout the county after year one at Kittitas Elementary.
How is the Boys and Girls Club of Kittitas County funded?
The Club will be supported through grants, county, private and corporate donations. There will also be
private events held throughout the year in support of the Boys and Girls Club of Kittitas County.
Will the funds raised in the County stay in Kittitas County?
Yes. The funds raised in Kittitas County will stay here to support the Boys and Girls Club of Kittitas
County.
Can donations be made at any time of the year?
Yes. Donations will be accepted any time during the year. Donations can be made at Umpqua Bank of
Ellensburg.
