LOWER VALLEY TRANSFER STATION <br />RESPONSE TO RFI QUESTIONS - August 1, 2024 <br />ucrroa <br />DATE REMAD <br />x <br />101 QUESTION <br />USPOIN4E <br />1.Terminal/Stretch/line Post/Top Rail Sizing & Galvanization: <br />We are proposing/clarifying the use of 2-7/8" 40 wt. terminal and stretch posts with 2-3/8" 40 wt. <br />line posts with 1-5/8" 40 wt top and bottom rail. This is the industry standard for a 6-ft chain link <br />commercial fence with privacy slats. Currently the WSDOT specifications call out for 2-3/8" <br />terminals with 1-7/8" line posts with 1-7/8" top rail and bottom rail. The end caps and bottom <br />rail two way brackets are available but very rare and expensive and way outside of the norm for a <br />project of this scope. <br />2.1're-Slatted Mesh or Traditional Bottom Lock Privacy Slats: <br />1. Contractor shall bid using WSDOT specifications. In regards to Detail 2, 9 and 11 on 1_S303 <br />How is the 5/8 plate attached to the push wall framing? I don't see a weld size or layout callout? <br />And at the joints of the 5/8 plate, is it a close butt joint with no weld or is that a welded seam? If <br />1. Attach the HSS framing to the vertical 5/8" plate with 3/16" fillet each side <br />welded is it ground flush? <br />at 2" length and 12" pitch. Provide a grove weld and grind flush. <br />2. 1s the steel push wall 8' -6" overall including the angled 5/8" plate on top? Or if just the level <br />2. Or just embedded in the concrete <br />seam between the armor plate and steel wall plate with a groove weld and <br />wall? What are the diameter and length of the concrete anchors that hold the steel push wall? <br />S. 3/4" 0, 8" of minimum embed, 16' on center. <br />And at what spacing? <br />6.
