Board of County Commissioners support moving forward with <br />recommendations as presented. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION FOR A PERMENANT SINGLE -YEAR LEVY LID <br />LIFT SUPPORTING ROADS <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on the <br />Road Levy Lid Lift and infrastructure funding sources for Kittitas <br />County and stated the 10-year plan didn't anticipate rate increases <br />or the cost Public Works has incurred due to inflation. Josh <br />Fredrickson requested the Board of County Commissioners consider <br />placing the proposed Road Fund Levy Lid Lift on the November 2024 <br />general election and stated this approval would enable Public Works <br />or the Auditors office to begin formation of pro -con committee. Vice - <br />Chair Laura Osiadacz moved to approve presenting this decision to <br />voters. Cory seconded the motion. Motion approved. <br />I-90 FEASIBILITY STUDY <br />Josh Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on <br />concerns that have been brought up for years about the impact of I-90 <br />traffic on Upper Kittitas County roads and efforts that have been <br />tried to alleviate weekend and holiday traffic. Josh Fredrickson <br />introduced Dan Ireland with SCJ Alliance who made a presentation of <br />the feasibility report that looked at alternatives to help address <br />the current traffic issues. Dan Ireland shared the objectives for I- <br />90 study area from exit 70 to exit 85 and the topics studied along <br />with the presentation. Josh Fredrickson expressed appreciation for <br />those assisting with this study and WSDOT for their involvement. The <br />Board of County Commissioners acknowledged all those involved and <br />agreed that the traffic issue isn't going away anytime soon. <br />SPEED STUDY REQUEST CRITERIA <br />Cameron Curtis gave history on speed requests received by Public <br />Works and stated in 10 years Public Works has had 62 requests, <br />approximately 11 have resulted in a change and each is estimated to <br />cost the maintenance crew alone $500 each, and that doesn't include <br />extensive time to processing the request in office. Cameron Curtis <br />presented the proposed changes to the process to meet criteria, a <br />scoring sheet, and described each element of importance. <br />CHARLTON ROAD SPEED STUDY RESULTS <br />Cameron Curtis briefed the Board of County Commissioners on a request <br />to reduce speed on Charlton Road from same resident as requested in <br />2022 and presented the findings of the most recent speed study <br />performed in June 2024 with no recorded accidents. Based on the data <br />collected and the findings presented, the Board of County <br />Commissioners denied the request for a public hearing. Josh <br />Frederickson stated Staff did utilize the request criteria as an <br />exercise if it would align with the outcome. <br />2024-7-22 MINUTES <br />
