Additional lnformation After our second year, the PUNCH "Fire House Project" houses a gallery, outdoor
stage/performance area, and a recently added indoor performance area and "snack
bai'with packaged snacks and beer. Exhibitions in the gallery change monthly and
we have musicians and other performers on the outdoor stage Saiurdays, May-
October. The past year has shown steady growlh in attendance. ln a town with a
population of approximately 200, open one day per week, we had 1157 visilors Jan-
Aug 2Q23 with 1 34 people on our busiest day. This is a 39.9% increase over the
same months in 2022. We estimate 21 .B% of tho$e to be out-of-county - a 6.8%
increase over last year or 103.8% increase when comparing total visitor counls.
Gross retail sales for 2A23 have increased 70.4o/a camparing again Jan-Aug 2423 lo
2A22.This is testament to the success of our efforts and the support of the Lodging
Tax Advisory Committee.
An investment in our marketing/promotions and talent fees is no! only a benefit to
our organization, but to the comnunity of Thorp. We are the only public gathering
place with regular hours in Thorp, filling a void lefi behind after the demise of popular
Thorp businesses such as the Rills General Store and the T&E Tavern. Thorp Hwy
has always been a popular scenic byway for road trippers, motorcyclists and
bicyclists, but has dropped in popularity since the loss of places tg stop, resi, get a
beer or beverage, and take in the beauly ol the valley for a moment.
Part of our mission has always been to bridge the urban rural divide and connect
communitie$ across Washington slate and the Greaier Northwesl. We hope to
become a popular destination for visitors and out-of-towners to mingle with locals
while experiencing arl, music and other events. We want central Washington to be
known as an arts destination and we want lo contribute to the plethora of reasons io
visit Kittitas County from galleries and museums, lo tood, adventure and more.
Lodging Tax Funds will enable us io bring talented artists to the county, expand our
programming and most importantly. spread the word across the Northwesl to get
butts in seats. heads in beds and provide opportuniiies to experience the wealth of
activities and attractions in our county.
www. punchproiects.org
25ti0 charircter litrril
SuppOfting DOCUmgntS You may upload any suppo.tj|g docurn.rrls such as graphs. i{ralJes.
