As of August 31 , 2023, there have been 4,879 vlsitols. However, due
to a delay in imputing information from our guestbook log, information from that is
only through August 17, 2023 which reflects '1 ,138 visitors signing the gueslbook
with many representing a group or family unit (one lor multiple visitors, aggregating
the numlrer). Of these, 713 were from more than 50 miles, representing
approximately 63% of current atlendance, while the remainder (37%) come from
more local distances. Of these individuals, when inquired, hatf had indicated they
were staying overnight due to cornments such as "heard from the hotel" verbally or
written. Of the 4,879 people who have visited the museum, 3,977 (82%) have
attended for exhibit or general purpose.
Most of these individuals inquired about other activities in and around Ellensburg
and Kiitatas County, such as food, shopping, educational offerings, other museums
and historical sites. Of these, we are ceftain that at least 50% will purchase meals,
gas, gifts, and more while passing through Kittitas County. Guests to the museum
have identified they come from locatlons outside Kittitas County & Washingion. We
also direct visitors to local attraciions in and around Kittitas County & Ellensburg,
such as museums, historic sites, recreational opportunities and more.
Our Facebook page reflects primary visitation by individuals lrom 50+ miles,
including Portland, Oregon and the major Washington cities of Seattle, Tacoma,
Spokane, Kennewick, and Moses Lake, all within the top 10 cities following our
page. And many guests who come into the Museum indicate they heard about the
Museum from the web and online advedising.
We have been collecting data from individuals who sign up for our tours and events
th.ough our website including zip codes & email addresses, as well as through after-
event surveys which asks about lhe event, their experience, & questions such as
length of stay, place of stay, etc. This will continue as long as we have our current
programming.
We have received commitmenl from some of our organizations that meet at the
museum that the attendees will be staying in the area overnight. We have
commitment from 5 of our upcoming presenters for hotel stays. We also anticipate
overnight stays for the History Pub Crawl & other events.
2500 ch.rrorter linlit
