Response 1:
ProjecUEvent
Description *
Established in 1999, Valley Theatre Company (VTC) is at the very hea$ of live
perforn']ance in Fllensburg and the Kittitas Valley. Our Sumnrer nrainstage
procluction is our largest play in terms of cast and budget, and we focus on bringing
in some of the most dynamic and popular Broadway musicals, drawing audiences
not only from Ellensburg and Kittitas County. but from throughout Washington. Our
target audiences are those interested in live theater and the performing arts.
ln 2024, VTC is excited to present "Anastasia the Musical," which imagines that one
child of the Romanqv family survives the Russian Revolution but does not remember
who she really is. Two charming opportunists coach her to pose as the losi Princess
Anastasia to presenl her io her grandmolher, all while avoiding a Bolshevik general
who has been tasked with eliminating any poteniial surviving Romanov heir.
Anaslasia is an excellent choice for broad community involvement, as it will include
child, teen, adult and senior roles in cast and crew. The title will also have audience
recognition as many will be familiar with the 1997 film and the 2016 stage musical.
Additionally, we are planning a "Princess Tea" event during the two weekends of
perfornrances, focused on engaging younger children who get to meet and have
'tea' wilh Princess Anastasia.
This event is designed to increase tourism and exposure tcl performing arts, and
build connections in our community bet'rveen businesses and alrdience members.
\Ale cultivate "Experience Partners'' with a fer,v of our local restaurants and hotels. lt
has included everything from themed menus. discounts on appetrzers or dessert,
hotel stays that included tickets io the show, and special ihemed cocktails. VTC has
also developed relationships with Central Washington l..lniversity and several other
regional community theaters for cross-promoiion o{ events.
These funds will be used wisely to achieve a successful marketing and advertrsing
carnpaign, assist with a portion of facility renl.al fees for the rehearsals and
performances, play royalties, production expenses and renials from other regiorral
organizations including set pieces. props, costumes, and lighiing - without which we
could nol hold the event.
Our intention is to execute this plan through socia| media nrarketing ads, online ads
on local comnruniiy and regional websites, print ads. posters, yard signs, video and
radio advertisements, and at olher VTC and community activities throughout the
year.
2500 character lirii
Video Link P!ea:le pro,/ide us iirli io a bilei viCeo :jirnrnar\,of yi)ij crlj;rnlzation's :lveDilprojscl You Ml,JSf oe pr.]jc{ri al lh.l
O&\ trce:ilrg'n,luatrlv r.rr "Jed,11Ll
https:1/youtu. belOQTvdlXFr_B
List of lntended Use of Funds*
Advertising and Promotion
Graphic Design
Facility Rental Fees
Production expenses and rentals (set pieces, props,
costumes, lights, etc.)
Royalties
2l Supporting Kittitas County as a tourism destination.
'1.
