BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSI4 COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO.2024- AUTHORIZING CHAIR SIGNATURE ON WATERSHED SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, INC. TASK ORDER NO.5 — ELLENSBURG URBAN FLOODING HYDRAULIC ANALYSIS WHEREAS: Kittitas County desires to participate in a City of Ellensburg project that will improve information available about flood risk from Whiskey and Mercer Creeks in the city and identify effective mitigation actions; and WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District will participate in the City's project for the purposes of coordinating this effort with District -led floodplain mapping and flood - risk reduction projects; and WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works procured on -call professional hydraulic and hydrologic engineering services from Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc. consistent with state law and county code in December 2022; and WHEREAS: Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc. prepared a scope of work and fee proposal to provide technical floodplain hydraulic analysis and to of coordinate this effort with District -led floodplain mapping and flood -risk reduction projects; and WHEREAS: The value of Task Order No. 5 exceeds the contract authorization amount currently provided to the Public Works Director; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED The Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington, in the best interest of the public, does hereby authorize Chair signature on Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc. Task Order No. 5 - Ellensburg Urban Flooding Hydraulic Analysis. DATED this 7' day of May 2024, at Ellensburg, Washington.
