communicating with those organizations and other targeted groups and individuals about the
assessment process and the input gathering activities as part of the process such as an online
questionnaire, focus groups and interviews. As part of the assessment IDM will take the lead with
completing the following:
a. Completing an inventory of community and economic organizations and identifying gaps
b. Gathering and analyzing input from the community and economic organizations and other key
stakeholders about what is working well and what needs to be improved related to the
community and economic development efforts in Kittitas County and the region, and their
suggestions how those identified improvements could be accomplished effectively in Kittitas
County.
c. Developing an assessment report that details the inventory findings, the themes and ideas that
surfaced through the input, the overall strengths, weaknesses and gaps of current community
and economic development efforts in Kittitas County.
d. Based on the assessment's key findings, IDM will also develop recommendations and potential
organizational structures for the Task Group to consider for Kittitas County.
2.4. Once the assessment report is developed, IDM will meet with the Task Group to review the
report and discuss the reports themes and findings that surfaced in the assessment process, as well as
IDM's recommendations. IDM will work with the Task Group to develop a consensus on a proposed
structure for elevating economic development in Kittitas County and one that fosters greater
collaboration regionally based on the assessment findings.
IDM will work with the Task Group to develop a formal set of recommendations that the Task Group
can then present to the community and economic organizations and other key stakeholders.
2.5. The Task Group will make formal presentations of its recommendations to the community and
economic development organizations and other key stakeholders who will be asked to provide
feedback and identify any revisions they feel need to be made in order for their organization to
endorse, adopt and then participate in the recommendations proposed by the Task Group. IDM will
assist the Task Group with preparing for the presentations including assisting with developing a
presentation and appropriate supporting materials.
2.6. Once the presentations are completed, IDM will assist the Task Group in reviewing all of the
feedback provided and develop a final proposed organizational structure and any other
recommendations.
2.7. Once all participating community and economic organizations and other appropriate key
stakeholders have formally adopted and endorsed the recommendations, the Task Group, Central
Washington University, Kittitas County, the City of Ellensburg, Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce,
CenterFuse, and the other participating organizations should formally unveil the new organizational
structure and highlight how it will elevate the community and economic development capacities in
Kittitas County.
Timeline: 6 months: May 2024 to November 2024
Page 13
