Given the complex nature of <br />evaluation research, unique methodological, data, and analytical needs may arise <br />through the duration of the evaluation process. lf or when changes in the <br />methodological approach, data acquisition, or analytical procedures need to be <br />adapted, the researcher(s) will inform the jail as well as the partner agencies or <br />organizations. lf or when adaptations are required, partner agencies or organizations <br />will be expected to implement those adaptations as detailed by the researcher(s). <br />Recruitment materials for one-on-one interviews (i.e., posters, flyers, or postcards) will <br />be approved by the researcher(s) lnstitutional Review Board and/or Human Subjects <br />Review Council. Furthermore, the researche(s) will create informed consent <br />documentation to be signed by allwho agree to participate in one-on-one interviews. <br />The informed consent documents will also be approved by the researcher(s)' <br />lnstitutional Review Board and/or Human Subject Review Council. Given the <br />parameters of research ethics, the one-on-one interviews will need to be conducted <br />post-release, while individuals are no longer incarcerated. Partner agencies or <br />organizations may be asked to provide a setting or space for the 16 researcher(s) to <br />conduct the one-on-one interviews. <br />KCJ is the owner of the research data, to the extent consistent with and allowed by the <br />grant funding and may make use of the de-identified data for the education of the public <br />and other entities. <br />CDH will also be involved with and participate in all KCJ work groups surrounding <br />programming for those incarcerated. At least monthly a representative from CDH will <br />be invited to participate in a meeting and share any pertinent information regarding <br />successes or barriers of the programming, how the parties can improve on processes or <br />communication, and present information as requested. CDH may also be requested to <br />update KCJ administrators or staff more frequently if so desired when both parties have <br />available time. <br />Qualifications <br />CompassDirect Healthcare has the staffing, knowledge, and skillset to make this project <br />a long-term success. Zach Deffinbaugh, DNP, ARNP is a doctoral-prepared family <br />nurse practitioner who has completed continuing medical education training in OUD, <br />MOUD, and addiction medicine. Dr. Deffinbaugh knows and understands correctional <br />medicine and currently serves in the role of the supervising medical provider at KCJ. <br />Our two additional providers also provide high-level care to KCJ inmates currently, and <br />both have been briefed and will be trained in MOUD in correctionalsettings. The BJA's <br />guidelines have already been reviewed by all CDH employees involved in medical care <br />at KCJ. All CDH providers have prescriptive authority including buprenorphine <br />management. Our state licenses, DEA numbers, and NPI numbers are all available <br />upon request, and on file at KCJ through our existing contract.
