BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />WALLA WALLA COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />IN THE MATTER OF APPROVINGINTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN WALLA WALLA <br />COUNTY, WASHINGTON ANDKITTITAS COUNTY, <br />WASHINGTON FOR THE <br />HOUSING OF INMATES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24 O5B <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County owns and operates the Kittitas County Jail, located in Ellensburg, <br />Washington;and <br />WHEREAS, Walla Walla County and the law enforcement agencies within Walla Walla County <br />employ law enforcement officers who arrest persons for misdemeanors, or felonies, which may result in <br />jailing of the person arrested;and <br />WHEREAS, Walla Walla County seeks to contract for jail facilities and services from Kittitas <br />County Jail for confinement of Walla Walla County prisoners; and <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County has expressed a willingness to provide jail facilities and services to <br />Walla Walla County;and <br />WHEREAS, the lnterlocal Cooperation Act (RCW Chapter 39.34.080) and the "City and County <br />Jails Act" (RCW Chapter 70.48), authorizes contracts for jail services made between two counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the governing bodies of each of the parties hereto have determined to enter into an <br />Agreement for the housing of inmates as authorized and provided for by RCW 39.34.080 and other <br />Washington law;and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Corections recommends approval of said Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and Risk Manager have reviewed said <br />Contract and recommend approval; now therefore <br />BE lT HEREBY RESOLVED by this Board of Walla Walla County Commissioners that they do <br />hereby approve and shallsign said lnterlocalAgreement between Kittitas County and Walla Walla County. <br />P3ss9d this 26th . . day of Februaru. 204 by Board members as fol/ows: 3 Present o, O Participating <br />via other means, and by the fottowing note:E Aye o Nay O Abstainea _[ebsent. <br />Aftest: <br />Diane L.
