wooden bridge requires replacing. KRD does not hold a license for use of the bridge, and
no one has a deed from the Bureau of Reclamation for the bridge. Solving the issue, PW
proposes to deploy one of our temporary bridges for use during bridge replacement
construction. This solves access issues for Ranch Properties this season and allow the
bridge to be replaced fall of 2024.
Temporary bridge abutments require engineering and construction. Cost share between
Ranch Properties and the local land use developer seems reasonable by lessening the cost
burden on Road Fund rate payers. Given the Board has decided on the public benefit of
the new development, PW may also be a party to the cost share of the temporary bridge
replacement.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
Typically, temporary abutment design and construction is in the $100,000 range.
ATTACHMENTS:
None.
Public Works "Work Session Staff Report", 2024
