FEBRUARY 20, 2024 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy Buchholz, Office <br />Administrator; Mark Cook, Public Works/CDS Director; Josh <br />Fredrickson, Engineer; and Stephanie Hartung, Chief Civil Deputy <br />Prosecutor. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING CLERF LEASE PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />At 2:00 p.m. CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH opened a Public Hearing to consider <br />a Lease with Craig Clerf for property located at the Kittitas County <br />Airport, Bowers Field. <br /> <br />JOSH FREDRICKSON, ENGINEER, presented a Staff Report and reviewed a <br />proposed Lease with Craig Clerf. He explained how Mr. Clerf’s <br />father, Robert Clerf, had entered into a Lease with Kittitas County <br />back in March 1974m, for a private hangar on approximately 6,192 <br />square feet of Airport property. He said Robert Clerf had passed <br />away and his son, Craig Clerf, renegotiated the current lease that <br />is set to expire on February 29, 2024. Staff has prepared a Lease on <br />the new template, at the new rate of $0.16 per square feet for <br />fifteen (15) years, ending on February 28, 2039. <br /> <br />THERE BEING NO ONE IN ATTENDANCE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC <br />PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2024-033 CLERF LEASE PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />VICE-CHAIRMAN OSIADACZ moved to approve Resolution No. 2024-033, <br />Authorizing a Lease for Property at Bowers Field, with Craig Clerf. <br />CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH seconded. COMMISSIONER WRIGHT said he would be <br />voting against the motion, as it was for a building clearly in rough <br />shape, and the County needs to make tough decisions in the best <br />interest of the facility, and not the users. <br /> <br />Motion carried 2-1. COMMISSIONER WRIGHT voted against the motion. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING AMEND KCC 2.04.010 PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />At 2:03 p.m. CHAIRMAN WACHSMITH opened a Public Hearing to consider <br />Amending Kittitas County Code Chapter 2.04.010. <br />
