KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 20, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a Lease with <br />Craig Clerf for property located at the Kittitas <br />County Airport, Bowers Field. <br />BACKGROUND: Craig Clerf s father, Robert Clerf, entered into a <br />lease with Kittitas County in March 1974 for a <br />private hangar located on approximately 6192 <br />square feet of Airport property within the <br />Aeronautical area. This 25-year lease was then <br />renegotiated in March of 1999 for another 25-year <br />term. After Robert Clerf s passing, his son, Craig <br />Clerf, renegotiated the current lease that is set to <br />expire on February 29, 2024. Staff has secured an <br />executed Lease on the new template, at the new <br />lease rate of $0.16 per square foot for a lease term <br />of fifteen (15) years ending on February 28, 2039. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office; Craig <br />Clerf <br />RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a Lease with <br />Craig Clerf for County property located at Bowers <br />Field Airport. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Lease <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer/Airport <br />Manager <br />
