The report of the 2023 annual bridge inspection effort (Exhibit 1), includes any <br />recommendations for bridge replacement and repair. Previous years inspections relied on <br />consultant services for the majority of inspections. PW staff has become certified with <br />Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to lead the County bridge <br />inspection effort. In 2023 the transition was made to utilizing PW staff for inspections. <br />Reliance on consultants will continue to be needed for specialized inspections such as <br />underwater and non -redundant steel tension member (previously fracture critical) <br />inspections. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Exhibit 1: 2023 Annual Bridge Inspection Report <br />
