Through the years, Klttitas County has <br />accumulated response equipment and PPE to respond to manmade and natural threat. Page 21, Kittitas County HIVA. <br />ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED <br />The leasing of storage space adjacent to the Sheriff's Office to house response equipment (Mobile Command Post, generators, <br />lights, cots etc.) and PPE (masks, eye protections) <br />ASSOCIATED DEUVERABLES/OUTPUTS (IMMEDIATE) <br />The response equipment will be sheltered from the elements, plugged into a charging outlet to keep the batteries charged. We <br />will be able to have response equipment to Include our mobile command post ready to be deployed at a moment's notice. <br />DESIRED OUTCOMES (INTERMEDIATE AND LONG-TERM) <br />The Intermediate and long-term outcome is that equipment will be in working condition and ready for use in a response to any <br />emergency to Include a terrorist incident. <br />NEXUS TO TERRORISM <br />The project houses our mobile command post/vehicle, which will respond to acts of terrorism. The SWAT team needs critical live safety equipment to be able to function. The <br />Gap facing the county is aging and outdated ballistic protection. HIVA page S civil disturbance, page 16 terrorism. <br />ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED <br />Purchase heavy vests for SWAT team members. <br />ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES/OUTPUTS (IMMEDIATE) <br />The new ballistic vests will help protect SWAT operators in extremely hostile and dangerous situations. The ballistic protection <br />will provide protection from pistol, rifle and small explosives.
