KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />PUBLIC WORKS — BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: November 13, 2023 <br />TOPIC: 2023 Road Standards Review Committee <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Direct Staff <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Joshua Fredrickson <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Affirm Public Work's decision to disband an informal group of stakeholders which <br />reviewed proposed changes to Public Work's Road Standards <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />The Board of County Commissioners gave direction formulating an informal <br />review committee in 2018. <br />• The effort in 2019 stalled and Public Works reformulated an informal group of <br />stakeholders in November 2023 to vet proposed changes to County Road <br />standards. <br />• The review committee has met and provided their input. <br />• Proposed changes have been submitted to the Planning Commission and will be <br />submitted for BOCC consideration. <br />• With the review completed, the informal committee may be disbanded. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />PW recommended an informal committee of road standards reviewers comprised of the <br />following stakeholders: <br />• Land Developer <br />• Land Use Planning Consultant <br />• Local Engineering firm <br />• Local Attorney and Land Use Developer <br />• Local Realtor <br />• City staff representative <br />• County Engineer <br />• Public Works Director <br />
