;The recipient agrees to budget funds for two staff representatives to attend one three-day national meeting in 'Washington, D.C. each year for the life of the grant. (lf a national meeting is not planned, funds must be used to attend la BJA approved training.) ln addition, the recipient agrees to participate in A.Jn training events, technical assistance :€v€DtS, or conferences held by BJA or its designees, upon request. i 47 The recipient agrees that no funds under this grant award (including via subcontract or subaward, at any tier) may be used for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), which includes unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAV), or for any accompanying accessories to support UAS. 48 Wthholding of funds: Research and evaluation independence and integrity The recipient may not obligate, expend, or draw down any award funds until: (1) it has provided to the grant manager this OJP award information regarding research and evaluation independence and integ rity in accordance with the led instructions in the program solicitation, (2) OJP has completed its review of the in formation provided and of ny supplemental information it may request, (3) the recipient has made (or agreed to) any adjustments to the award ding as to amount) that OJP may require to prevent, eliminate, mitigate, or othenruise adequately address any I or apparent personal or financial conflict of interest on the part of the investigators or other staff/consultants engaged in the research/evaluation or organizational conflict of interest on the part of the recipient entity, and (4) Award Condition Modification (ACM) has been issued to remove this condition. lf this award is a "discretionary" award (i.e., not an award under a statutory "formula" program), the recipient understands and agrees that if it does not provide an adequate research and evaluation independence and integrity submission (as determined by OJP), or if it fails to implement (as determined by OJP) any safeguard included in its submission or required by OJP, this award may be terminated (without right of appeal), upon thirty (30) calendar days advance written notice by OJP. 49 Regarding medication-assisted treatment (MAT), the award recipient understands and agrees that federal funds shall not be used to support activities that violate the Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. 801-904. 50 Recipient may not obligate, expend, or drawdown funds until the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs has reviewed and approved the Budget Narrative portion of the application and has issued an Award Condition Modification (ACM) informing the recipient of the approval. tl I have read and understand the information presented in this section of the Federal Award lnstrument. rd Acceptance ration and Certification to the U.S. Department of Justice as to Acceptance By checking the declaration and certification box below, l- decl Declare to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), under penalty of perjury, that I have authority to make this aration and certification on behalf of the applicant.
