BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSh <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 1 6,3 <br />AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF TWO HEARINGS EXAMINERS SUPPORTING THE <br />BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works advertised a Request for Proposals to support the <br />hiring of a Hearings Examiner for the Board of Equalization (BOE) in August <br />2023;and <br />WHEREAS: Submittals were due on August 31, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS: No submittals were received by the advertised due date; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works staff solicited current BOE members for interest in <br />supporting the Board of Equalization to serve as Hearings Examiner and to <br />submit qualifications; and <br />WHEREAS: Staff received interest from two highly qualified members expressing interest to <br />serve as Hearings Examiners to support the current BOE workload; and <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works recommends hiring two BOE Hearings Examiners <br />at this time and compensation shall be $75.00 per hour; and <br />WHEREAS: BOE members desire being trained as future Hearings Examiners and the <br />compensation for training shall be $35.00 per hour. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best <br />interest of the public, does hereby authorize the hiring of two Hearings <br />Examiners supporting the BOE setting the hourly rate at $75.00 per hour and <br />offering $35.00 per hour for BOE trainees. <br />DATED on this 25th day of September 2023, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />❑ Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />ArZMMA <br />BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />Vice -Chairman <br />;8SENT <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br />
