KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> STAFF REPORT FOR <br /> STUDY SESSION <br /> Information Technology <br /> STUDY SESSION DATE: 8/28/2023 <br /> TOPIC: IT Impacts of PW/ CDS Merger <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: No Action -Information Only <br /> LEAD STAFF: Zane Kinney <br /> RECOMMENDATION: No recommendation at this time - discussion only. <br /> BRIEFING SUMMARY: IT requests the opportunity to discuss the impacts to our <br /> department that would result from the proposed merger of the Public Works and <br /> Community Development Services departments. <br /> BACKGROUND: A proposal has been made to merge the Public Works and Community <br /> Development Services departments. <br /> DISCUSSION: The IT department believes that this proposed change would have <br /> significant impact to our department's workload and would affect the target completion <br /> dates to our current work in progress and other requested projects that are currently in our <br /> queue. <br /> FISCAL IMPACTS: Altering the Cayenta database may require the use of professional <br /> services.
