KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5th ROOM 109 <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM May 8, 2023 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice -Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br />Others: Dan Carlson, Toni Berkshire, Jeremy Larson, Jamey <br />Ayling, Jeremiah Cromie, Steph Mifflin and Jessica Miller, <br />Community Development Services; Arden Thomas, Josh Fredrickson, <br />and Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; Neil Caulkins, Deputy <br />Prosecutor; and three (3) members of the public. <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Wright opened the Community Development <br />Services Study Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 MIN. TIME LIMIT) <br />Chad Bala - Mr. Bala shared concerns regarding CDS staff and an <br />email response. <br />Pat Deneen - Mr. Deneen shared concern regarding CDS staff and <br />an email response. <br />REPORTING CODE VIOLATIONS <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson brought this item forward as a request <br />for the BoCC. Commissioner Osiadacz stated her position is the <br />customers should be able to make a code enforcement complaint <br />over the phone. Discussion occurred regarding current procedure <br />and possible changes. Deputy Prosecutor Neil Caulkins stated it <br />is better to get the form filled out with the reporter's <br />signature. The BoCC directed CDS to put together a policy <br />regarding the procedure and limitations of taking a code <br />violation report over the phone. <br />2021 BUILDING CODE UPDATES <br />CDS Director Dan Carlson stated CDS will be coming to the BoCC <br />with a request to set a hearing to consider the 2021 Building <br />Codes on June Gth.
