a. What are other major economic costs and benefits associated with residential <br />development on the Cle Elum Ridge lands outside of water availability (i.e. expanding <br />development in the Wildland Urban Interface, ability to provide residential services, <br />etc.) <br />b. What mitigations/benefits could be derived from the conservation and creation of the <br />Cie Elum Ridge Community Forest to assist with this issue? <br />c. Could residential development potential be transferred to another area of the County? <br />L. there other potential lands owned by the public (state) that could be transferred <br />that would be better suited for residential (and affordable) development and are within <br />the green zone? <br />4. What obstacles exist in current growth management legislation that could prohibit the County <br />from creating offsetting revenue models resulting from intensified recreational use and <br />increased demand for wildland fire evacuation efforts? <br />TNC anticipates the consultant to participate in two meetings with TNC and its collaborators associated <br />with this sub -task: <br />• Meeting to orient consultant to specific data and context related to Task 2B and to provide <br />additional direction for consultant in completing this subtask <br />• Meeting to review and discuss results. <br />Task 3 —Summary of Mechanisms to Expand Public Benefits and Address Financial Impacts Associated <br />with Transferring the Cie Elum Ridge into a New/Expanded Community Forest. <br />Based on results from the analysis described in Tasks 1 and 2, TNC and the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan <br />partners seek a range of considerations that will aid TNC and its collaborators in achieving the outcomes <br />we seek for the Cie Elum Ridge lands, including: <br />1. Approaches to mitigate identified economic impacts. <br />2. Contextualize benefits and impacts associated with a Cle Elum Ridge addition to the Teanaway <br />Community Forest within the totality of the 27,000 acres of forest land the Checkerboard <br />Partnership is working to protect. This includes improvements for non -motorized recreation <br />(the Cle Elum Ridge), motorized (Taneum parcels owned by CCF) and Cabin Creek (DNR Trust <br />Lands with the County as beneficiary to help assist with costs of ownership that could not be <br />realized on lands like the Cle Elum Ridge and offset the impacts to ever increasing recreational <br />impacts to the County as a whole). <br />3. Examples of similar situations elsewhere that could inform the Cie Elum Ridge project <br />TNC anticipates the consultant to participate in two meetings with TNC and its collaborators associated <br />with this task: <br />• Meeting to review and discuss results. <br />TNC also anticipates the consultant participating/presenting at three external meetings that may include <br />additional stakeholders and parties key to understanding the information developed through this study. <br />
