On sheet 7 of 20, it mentions 7 proposed EV stalls. The applicant will be required to fill out a
commercial service application, as well as providing detailed cut sheets of the proposed EV's,
and information showing City Light which stalls are being proposed as EV stalls. Different EV
chargers require different voltages, have different demands, and can seriously alter the scope and
cost of the project. With no EV chargers, this parking lot wouldn't even require a new
transformer, and the scope of work for City Light and applicant would be minimal. With EV
chargers this project grows significantly. If the applicant wants to be in charge of billing for
using the EV chargers, or if the intent is to not bill for the EV chargers at all, only one meter
would be required for this project. If the applicant intends on having a 3`d party be in charge of
billing for using the EV chargers, a 2nd meter would be required to be installed for this project.
City Light must have 24/7 full access to our electrical system for proper maintenance &
operations from the street and/or driveway and parking lots. There are also minimum clearances
we must maintain between our electrical facilities to other utilities, such as water, sewer, gas, &
communications. A 3' clearance around the back and sides of transformers and electric vaults,
as well as a 10' clearance around the front side of transformers and electric vaults must be
maintained for working space from all obstacles, such as vegetation, signs, etc. Also, no trees or
large vegetation can be placed on top of the City Light power lines.
Locations for transformers and electric vaults will need to be determined where they are
protected from vehicle traffic and where they will be in a utility easement. Communications
generally install with the electric utility and may have similar considerations for space.
Meters must be accessible 24/7, and cannot be placed behind fences, gates, or other situations
where City Light cannot safely and easily access the meters.
YAEnergy Services\Light\Developer Information Packet\SEPA & Plat App Responses\Pre-Application
Meetings\2023\P23-006 Kittitas Co.
