Electric: The City of Ellensburg Electric Utility (City Light) has an existing high voltage (12.47kV) overhead power pole line that runs north -south on the east side of the alley adjacent to the applicants property. This pole line will serve as the source of power for the applicants proposed parking lot. The local telephone company, Consolidated/Fairpoint, has multiple telephone poles running along the south side of 7th Ave adjacent to the applicants property. If any modifications needs to be done to the telephone lines or poles, the applicant is responsible for contacting the telephone company. The provided preliminary site plan shows a line running from an existing City Light power pole on the east side of the alley to a new padmount transformer on the applicants property, and another line from the new padmount transformer to a new customer owned junction box. The applicant will be required to fill out a Right -of -Way permit with the City of Ellensburg Public Works Department, to allow them to excavate in the alley. The proposed location for the padmount transformer will be need to be relocated to protect it from vehicular traffic, preferably a little to the north and west in the larger open area to the east of the northern parking lot entrance/exit. Also, the line running from the transformer to the customer owned junction box needs to be modified, with the line running from the transformer to a customer owned, installed, and maintained meter base (Meter provided by City Light), and then from the meter base to the customer owned junction box. The plans also show 4 pinto type lights and some trees in the island in the center of the lot. Pinto lights are relatively short, and planting trees near them will block much of the light emanating from the Pinto's, so applicant is advised to remove any trees in the island around the Pinto lights.
