Traveling to Cle Elum is gaining popularity as our business community continues to offer more for visitors to explore and experience. Cle Elum has become a destination and a location that is close enough for weekend travel where a mix of recreational experiences and activities are being offered. We have earned the tag of being "halflrvay to everywhere", and in being central to travel throughout the state. Our close and easy proximity to both the SeaTac and Yakima airport allows for easy and close access to seasonal recreation. Our retail businesses share that shoppers are expressing their excitement in visiting Cle Elum and seeing all the positive changes. Through our continued zip code tracking, conversation with businesses and social media traffic we are seeing an increase in people from 1-2 hours away and furthervisiting Cle Elum ln the past three years, fifteen new businesses have opened, which has provided more attraction for visitors. New storefronts and updated business are attracting visitors and have increased our ability to market Cle Elum as a destination. Our sidewalk improvement project which is phasing into our downtown providing a more walk-able experience of our downtown. The new sidewalks and decor bring a more attractive look and feel while visiting. We have become known as the town that welcomes visitors, and a business community that encourages visitors to explore what Cle Elum has to offer.
