4.1 Collaboration*
4.2 Promoting Local
Business *
Utilizing the Main Street Four Point Slrategic Approach. our association works with
businesses and our community to strengthen our economic. Business and
community members on our Main Slreet Committees which include, Promotions,
Economic Vitality. Design and Outreach.
One of the key goals for lhe Cle Elum Downtown Association is that of creating and
fostering partnerships with others. We view this opportunity to work togetl'ler as a
win-win in successfully marketing and moving our community into a destination that
is well support by tourism. Our partnership with our local partners continues to be
strong and even growing. Locally. we work with Suncadia Resort, the Roslyn
Downtown Association. Ellensburg Downtown Association, Kittitas County Charrber
of Conrmerce, Discover Cle Elum, WA Horse Park, and the NK County Tribune to
plan events that can coincide with peak weekends and to comarket to attraci
visitors. This has been especially beneficial in placing Cle Elum as a destination for
visitors to Roslyn. Suncadia Resorl, WA Horse Park. Through this collaboration we
are moving traffic from Roslyn and Suncadia to the great opportunities our town
offers.
Our business community are also key pa{ners. Through continued building of
relationships with existing and new businesses they have become much nrore
engaged planning and marketing their downtown. One of the major areas of growth
has been the engagement businesses have on social media and in capturing their
audiences. Through our collaborative efforts of slraring through social media, our
reach has become much greater.
This past year we have started cosponsoring events in our downtown with
businesses and organizations. For example. on Labor Day weekend we
cosponsoted "Art in the Heart ofthe Cascades". This eventfeatured guest artists,
classes for kids, and an art swap. We are currently planning more events like this rn
2022. We are excited that our retail and food and beverage businesses are
beginning to understand the value of working together to support each other and to
rnarket Cle Elum for tourrsm.
Working with the City of Cle Elum Hisioric Preservation Commission, The Northern
Kittiias County Historical Society, and the Cascade Association of Museurns &
History, we are having discussions about how to promote our nch historic past in a
manner that attracts visitors to our iown.
2500 Charxcle. lirnit
ilcscrjbe ha!.J you !.lill tro, lroie lodqinq es!alllishrrents reslarjraIts. an{i husiness lori]te{l rn Kiititas Coulrly
This year alone, our FB post reach has increased by 453%. and our FB post
engagement lras increased by 168%. Our posts are made daily and pronrote local
businesses, lodging, restaurants, and services. ln 2020. during peak COVID
resirrctions, our association offered social med ja, online sales, and markeiing
classes to businesses who were struggling with promoting their business. As a
result, more businesses became active in marketing through online platforms. We
continue to offer support and help io those who are just entering into the world of
social media and those who are wanting to increase their skills by using new tools,
such as Reels or lnstagram.
ln October of this year. our new website will be online to provide multiple options for
visiiors, businesses, and the conrrnunity at large to access information on local
businesses. A direct link to their business website and a Google map will allow the
viewer to find and locate businesses. The website has the poiential to host an online
marketplace for local businesses (retail and lodging).
Through our comarketing and collaboration with partners we can link information for
greater marketing opportunities. We are committed to working hard and
collaboratively to identify the best way to connect between our partners to promote
Cle Elum.
25OO char.icler lintil
