4l Collaboration
lf your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other events,
how is this accomplished?
4-1 Collaboration*ln 2020 and 2021 we have not been as active in collaborating as we would have
liked and have done in the past. Covid and staffing shortages have significantly
impacted our ability to reach out to maintain and form new alliances.
ln 2021 we discussed collaborative opportunities with the Downtown Association
director and hope to pursue some of those ideas in 2A22. We believe the covered
arena can provide a unique venue for community activities, and a more conducive
setting for some businesses to have a presence at the Park.
We also will contact the Chamber's new tourism and events director to explore ideas
about how the Park can partner with other organizations and events in the coming
year.
2500 character liB;1
4.2 Promoting Local
Business *
Describe hour yolr will p.onrole lodging establislrnenls reslairra[ts, and busifiess located rn Kiililas Cou,]ty
We distribute information about the local communiiy and activities at the two major
vrsitor traffic points at the Park: our registration booth and the show office. This
includes the Cle Elum "This ls How We Do" guide, the Chambefs Central
Washington Visitors Guide, the Tribune's Explore guide, and other materials like the
Cle Elum public market handout.
Our website links to those community websites as well. We also recommend
businesses to event organizers rncluding hotels, restaurants, office supply
businesses. farm-home-hardware suppliers, rental vendors, caterers, etc.
We will rnvestiage whether there is support from local businesses to reintroduce our
Discount Coupon program that highlighted visiting the participating local businesses
in exchange for some small benefit of their choosing (5% off, a free dessert, etc.). lt
was popular with Park visitors but required a little extra effort from the businesses to
fulfill the benefits and that proved to be a disincentive in a tight labor market.
2500 draracler lirnil
4.3 Host Hotel*ls there a host holel Ior your evenl or gri]fft projecl? lf yes. list tlre hotel.
,NO
* Yes. Stewart Lodge
5l Future Plans
Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. Include any plans for ticket sales,
event sponsors, and other cost-recovery models.
