Agencies should also count the number of <br />recreational boating safety posts on the social media channels of partner organizations when <br />the agency can show that the posts are the result of interaction with that partner. <br />. Small = 4 <br />. Medium = 8 <br />. Large = L6 <br />Campaigns: See SOAR for reporting requirements. Goals for all agencies, regardless of size, is <br />participation in these campaigns. The State Parks Recreational Boating Safety communications staff will <br />distribute content to all agencies for each of the campaigns making participation quick and simple. <br />These campaigns can have a powerful impact if all agencies participate. <br />' Operation Drv Water campaign is a national campaign focused on the deterrence of <br />boating under the influence. Participation in this campaign is mandatory for all agencies <br />that receive a federal assistance grant. lt is a combination of emphasis patrols and <br />media the weekend before the Fourth of july. <br />' Spring Aboard Campaign was a national campaign but is now a state campaign designed <br />to encourage all boaters to take a recreational boating safety class. lt occurs in late <br />March. <br />National Safe Boating Week is a nationally observed week focused on encouraging all <br />boaters to wear their lifejackets and other best practices for optimal safety. ln addition <br />to media posts, agencies are encouraged to participate in "Wear lT" events. This <br />campaign is sponsored by the National Safe Boating Council. <br />Safe Paddline Week is a campaign sponsored by the Washington State Parks <br />Recreational Boating Safety Program. The purpose of the week is to elevate awareness <br />around basic paddling safety behaviors such as always wearing a PFD, obtaining training, <br />etc. <br />Waterway Marking <br />Participating agencies should report the total number of Aids to Navigation (ATONs) that they are <br />responsible for within their jurisdiction on the SOAR. Do not count ATON's emplaced / maintained by <br />the USCG, Corps of Engineers or other Federalagencies. The county or localjurisdiction will use only <br />those waterway markers which conform to the uniform state waterway marking system as identified, <br />found in chapter 352-66 WAC. <br />Accountability <br />Audits <br />All agencies will be audited on a periodic rotating basis.
