DISCUSSION: <br />Most recent correspondence from the City of Ellensburg has informed District Staff that <br />the City will not be updating their FEMA floodplain mapping based on flood studies <br />conducted by the District. District staff recommends honoring our funding commitment <br />to the Reecer Creek Flood Hazard Reduction and Floodplain Restoration Project. <br />However, staff has concerns about making new investments in Ellensburg flood <br />alleviation projects, if the City is not committed to utilizing the best available flood risk <br />information to manage development. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />Funding for the Reecer Creek Flood Hazard Reduction and Floodplain Restoration <br />Project is included in the 2022 Flood Control Zone District budget. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Exhibit 1: Resolution <br />Exhibit 2: Interlocal Agreement <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />PUBLIC WORKS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />
