KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: September 6, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />Signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the Replacement of Bridge No. 80181 on <br />Cooke Canyon Road over the Hiline Canal CRP 315-22. <br />BACKGROUND: On July 14, 2022, Kittitas County Public Works was <br />advised that our Cooke Canyon Road — Hiline Canal bridge <br />replacement project was selected to receive funding <br />through the federal Local Bridge Program. <br />This project will require a 13.5 percent match in local funds <br />for the engineering and design. If construction is authorized <br />before December 2025 there will be 100 percent federal <br />funding for eligible costs. <br />This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding for the <br />Preliminary Engineering phase of the project. <br />Public Works is preparing to solicit for design support in <br />the fall of 2022. It is anticipated that Public Works staff <br />will perform 50 percent of the Preliminary Engineering. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Replacement of Bridge No. 80181 on Cooke Canyon Road <br />over the Hiline Canal. <br />HANDLING: Return two (2) originals to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
