KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, WEBEX <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM June 13, 2022 <br />Board members present: Chair Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman Cory <br />Wright, and Commissioner Brett Wachsmith. <br />Others: Dan Carlson, Jeremy Larson, Jeremiah Cromie, Steph <br />Mifflin, and Jessica Miller Community Development Services; Mark <br />Cook and Rebecca Cruse, Public Works; and ten (10) members of <br />the public. <br />At 1:30 pm Vice -Chairman Wright opened the Community Development <br />Services Study Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 MIN. TIME LIMIT) <br />There were no citizen comments. <br />CWU CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM SOLAR DECATHLON PRESENTATION <br />There was a request from the Central Washington University <br />Construction Management program to present their entry in the <br />Solar Decathlon competition. Faculty lead Hungtao Dang provided <br />a presentation of a national competition called Solar Decathlon <br />Built Challenge. The team have worked together since last <br />September and finished the design. The competition lasts two <br />years, the first year is the design of the build and the second <br />year is the construction part of the challenge. CWU formed a <br />team called Solar Cats and they have partnered up with Taylor <br />Family to design and build a net zero house and compete in the <br />U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Built Challenge. If <br />funding is approved by the University, they will provide a local <br />community engagement event with dinner and a presentation this <br />summer. <br />BUILDING PLAN REVIEW TIMELINES UPDATE <br />CDS Building Official Jeremy Larson presented the updated plan <br />review time. We are still seeing high volume submissions of <br />preliminary site analysis, and building permits. Draft policy <br />2022-6-13 MINUTES 1 <br />
