{
Project the fully implemented local plans on the number of households
housed and the number of households left unsheltered, assuming existing
resources and state policies.
This project will add an additional 16 units to the County housing stock, a priority of
Objective 4 in the recently updated homeless plan. The plan also shows an increased
need for housing that targets senior, disabled, and veteran households rapidly being
priced out of the market. Households of homeless and/or low to very low-income
seniors, disabled, youth or veterans would be placed through Coordinated Entry, which
would reduce pressure on the homeless response system in the county.
r'Address racial disparities amongst people experiencing homelessness.
HopeSource recognizes that race and economic status can significantly limit the
opportunities of program participants and acknowledge the unequal impact of these
factors, and works to prepare program participants to overcome systemic racism in
housing, education, asset building, income, employment, and access to high-quality
food. Employees are expected to be sensitive to all diversity within the population of
persons served by the organization, employee workforce, and community.
lZOth"r information you think would be beneficialfor the Committee to know.
HopeSource priorities and the priorities of the Homeless and Affordable Housing
committee are strongly aligned with Governor lnslee's Reducing Poverty and lnequality
10-Year Plan. Eligible households will have housing stability plans, including education
and employment plans. HopeSource's Hope University provides in-person and virtual
coaching in life skills such as basic budgeting, credit and debt, smart spending, stress
management, and healthy living to maintain their independence in the long term. The
HopeSource NorthStar suite works with people to strengthen or gain work skills and
behavior to secure and sustain employment.
7
Doc lD: 4ad05969771 3e4eb6b6522ca80bfcd3afea7Sbdb
