KITTITAS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: April 19, 2022 ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Special Event Application authorizing Richard Hoyt to host the 2022 Cascade Challenge June 10,11,12, 2022. BACKGROUND: The Commissioners Office received a Special Event Application from Richard Hoyt to host the 2022 Cascade Challenge June 10,11,12, 2022. INTERACTION: The applicant is requesting a waiver to the Penal Bond - Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Penal Bond – Bond of Indemnity. The applicant is not requesting a waiver to Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours. The permit fee has been paid and Staff has routed the application and received a recommendation of approval or contingent approval from the following departments: Sheriff, Public Health, Public Works, Solid Waste, Prosecutor, Treasurer and Fire Marshal. (Specific comments may be seen in the Department Memo’s attached). RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application from Richard Hoyt to host the 2022 Washington State Sporting Clay Championships from June 10,11&12, 2022. With the following contingencies: Public Health/EH: Requirements  Food Service for the event needs to obtain their temporary food service permit at least two weeks prior to the event.  Sanicans and handwashing stations throughout the course of the event with at least one being handicap accessible and the camping area must have two porta-potties in place throughout the duration of the event.  Garbage cans with tight fitting lids throughout the course as well as a dumpster in the camping area suggested placement in the parking area. Public Works: Requirements  Publish in the Northern Kittitas County Tribune and Daily Record two weeks in advance.
