Airport Advisory Committee Bylaws 9/15/20201 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />Kittitas County <br />Airport Advisory Committee <br />Bylaws <br />9/15/2021 <br />ARTICLE 1 – Authorization <br />1.1 The KITTITAS COUNTY AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE, (AAC) is established by <br />the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) by Resolution 2020- <br />229. The Airport Advisory Committee Charter, adopted by the BOCC on <br />December 15, 2020, establishes the purpose and duties of the AAC. The purpose <br />and responsibilities of the AAC are outlined in the Charter. <br />1.2 Kittitas County will defend and indemnify Committee members as provided for in <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 2.73. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 2 – Purpose (See Charter) <br />2.1 The purpose of the Airport Advisory Committee shall be to advise and inform the <br />Airport Director and staff on matters pertaining to the development of the aeronautical, <br />industrial, and agricultural areas at Bowers Field (Airport). <br />2.2 See Charter for areas of review <br />ARTICLE 3 – Membership <br />3.1 The makeup of the Airport Advisory Committee shall be seven (7) members which <br />may include representatives from the County, the City of Ellensburg, those with an <br />interest in economic development, agricultural or hanger lessee, pilot representative, <br />airport/business park tenants, or anyone with experience that could be deemed useful <br />for airport/business park growth. <br />3.2 Member Terms <br />3.2.1 Member terms shall be for 3 years. <br />3.2.2 At the end of each member’s term, all interested individuals will be <br />considered for membership. If a member would like to be considered for <br />reappointment, they shall submit a request in writing to the BOCC office. <br />3.2.3 Members will be selected based on the process established by Kittitas <br />County Handbook for Board, Committee and Commission. <br />3.3 A vacancy is deemed to have occurred upon the following: <br />3.3.1 Death of a member <br />3.3.2 Written notification has been provided to the County Commissioners office <br />3.3.3 Three consecutive unexcused absences by a member <br />3.3.4 A member ceases to be a resident of Kittitas County and a waiver has not <br />been granted by the BOCC <br />3.3.5 Any member may be removed upon a vote of not less than two members <br />of the BOCC for any reasonable cause as determined. <br />3.3.6 A member may resign from the committee by giving written notice to the <br />Chair. <br />3.4 The BOCC shall make appointments to fill out the term of any vacated position
