Kittitas Community Development Services February 19,
2022
411 N Ruby St. Suite 2
Ellensburg, WA 98926

Re: Long Plat 22-00001 “Suncadia Phase 2 Division 7”

I am writing to voice my opposition to the proposed development. The Phase 2 Division 7
project as proposed impedes upon an existing seasonal creek that is essential to the flora and
fauna in the area.
My family first came to the area in 1896. As coal miners in Roslyn and Ronald they developed
the area and established the foundation for the community. While much has changed from those
days, especially in the Suncadia and Tumble Creek areas, one does not have to go far to get back
to nature. None of us want to lose that.
I appreciate the efforts of Suncadia to blend modern living with the environment but the
proposed development is much too close to the aforementioned creek. I would hope the mission
statement of Kittitas County Community Development Services would indeed be the guide with
the ending statement “promoting the conservation of natural resources, and protecting the
environment.

I am requesting any development in that area be no closer than 100 yards from the creek. Such
precaution would create a riparian zone and still leaves considerable room for growth.

We only have one chance to do this right and I hope you will consider the impact of this project as
too impactful to the area.

Sincerely,
Dave Jaderlund
31 Big Rock Lane

Index #23
