Session—A period of time a person is running BehavePlus, from the time the pro- <br />gram is started until it is closed. Selections on the Configure > Appearance preferences <br />> Application tab are carried over from one session to another (Help and Picture pane <br />display and border color and width). (Section 3.2) <br />Slope distance—Map distance is the distance along the slope, on the ground. A Behave - <br />Plus tool makes the conversion to a horizontal map distance. (Section 14.2) <br />System—A computer program or some other packaging of models, interface, and data <br />into a form that fire managers can use (for example, nomograms, BehavePlus, FARSITE, <br />and FlamMap). (Section 2) <br />Tool—BehavePlus tools are stand-alone calculations and are available from the main <br />menu (for example, fine dead fuel moisture and relative humidity). (Section 13) <br />User's Guide—A reference guide that describes the operation of BehavePlus. It is avail- <br />able in the program from Help > User's Guide. Basic operation was not changed with <br />the update to Version 5.0; the Version 4.0 User's Guide is still valid. (Section 15.1; An- <br />drews and others 2008) <br />Variables paper—A reference guide that describes the more than 180 variables in Be- <br />havePlus. It is available in the program from Help > Variable Help. (Section 15.2; An- <br />drews 2009) <br />Version number—Program version number (5.0. 1) appears at the top of every Behave - <br />Plus page. (Section 15.6) <br />Worksheet—A form that guides user input to BehavePlus. It is created based on user se- <br />lection of modules, input options, and output variables. Only required input values are in- <br />cluded on the worksheet. A worksheet file includes not only what is visible, but an entire <br />suite of selections. (Section 3; Appendices D -H) <br />Workspace—Parent directory of the BehavePlus file structure and all its subdirectories <br />and files (DefaultDataFolder or a user -defined folder).
