Response 2.1 *
Response 2.2 *
Application Questions. Part 2
3l lmpact
Response 3:
Measuring Results*
Vvhy would lourists travel 1o Killitas Cor rnty to attencl your evertlaclivity,,lacilily?
EDE is working to become a statewide draw for dances and audience members
alike through the prdsentation of high-quality. family-friendly, affordable productions.
in addition to premium dance instruction.
The goal with our productions is twofold
1) to provide an unparalleled opporlunity for our local dance community to perform in
live shows to large audiences
2) to bring audiences from around the region to appreciate an support the dance arts
in Ellensburg while experiencing amazing enterlainment.
Longer term goals of EDE include creating opportunities for dance competitions to
be located in Ellensburg and create an even larger audience and appreciation for
dance.
For the 2022 season. EDE will create marketing materials and a reach that we have
never attempted before. We know that we attract tourism audiences from outside the
region to attend The Nutcracker and we want to do the same for our spring shows.
EDE will work with a marketing consultant to identify audiences to larget and create
a professional image for our company. We have incredible facilities in Ellensburg
ihat can support large audiences and the partnership with CWU will allow us to
capitalize on that as well.
2500 characler iinil
Describe lhe prior success of yorrr everlt/acl,vitytfacllity in altraction iouaisls.
We were unable to produce a show during 2021 due to limits on gathering and an
inability to secure venues due to covid.
We have attached numbers from CWU, who sells tickets for The Nutcracker. These
historic numbers show an audience attending from a broad spectrum of the region.
ln 2018, ofthe 500 ticket purchases who bought online (there are substantial ticket
purchases at the door who are not tracked for address), about 40% are from more
than 50 miles away.
Those number reflect a very small - to negligible - amount of advertising anywhere
outside of Ellensburg.
2500 characte. linrit
Describe holv yau v/ill p! otrtole yorrr eveni/activily;facility to attracl tourisls.
EDE will work the Encore Media group io publish our 2022 season and target niche
pedormance publications in the Seattle area. We will also work with the WA State
Arts Alliance and other statewide ads organizations to promote our season.
Locally, EDE will work with the Chamber of Commerce to use social media, print
media, and radio to highlight our show and profile oLrr dancers.
The draw of professional dancers will easily attract a broader audience and our past
products show that clearly.
Additionally, the collaboration agreement with CWU allows some productions to be
included in the CWU Theater Season and therefore included in all CWU mailings
and advertising. as well as the CWU website. Tickets for these shows are sold
through the CWU ticket office and plans are in the works to allow the Kittitas County
Visitor Center as a ticketing location as well.
2500 character lin)il
