Job Description <br />Kittitas County, Washington <br />TBTLE: <br />Project Administrator <br />CREATED <br />11/29/2021 <br />REPORTS TO: <br />PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION MANAGER <br />DEPARTMENT: <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br />JOB SUMMARY: <br />The Project Administrator is responsible for representing the interest of the Public <br />Works Department during design and construction of Public Works Projects. The <br />ability to communicate clearly and build/maintain cooperative working <br />relationships with County personnel, contractors, engineers, architects, and public <br />agencies is a must. The Project Administrator may be asked to participate in public <br />meetings and/or forums regarding County projects and must be able to speak to a <br />diverse population. All County employees work under the guidance of <br />Local/State/Federal regulations and must abide by County policies/procedures. <br />CATEGORY: <br />Project/Full Time OCCUPATION CODE: 4890 <br />UNION AFFILIATION: <br />None HRS/WEEK 40 <br />FLSA STATUS: <br />Exempt DRS ELIGIBILITY: PERS <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS <br />• Track any "force account" work. <br />• Verify all contractor compliance with Labor and Industries Public Works contracting requirements. <br />• Manage all construction contracts for required state and federal reporting requirements. <br />• Represent the Department on all Washington State Department of Transportation project audits. <br />• Ensure contract compliance for all federal aid work. <br />• Coordinate with Department construction inspectors ensuring proper and adequate construction record <br />keeping occurs on all County construction projects. <br />• Coordinate all requests for information from contractors in close coordination with construction <br />inspectors. <br />• Coordinate all contractor submittals for contract compliance with close coordination with the <br />Construction Manager. <br />• Prepare monthly progress payments for Construction Manager review. <br />• Coordinate with Finance on all required state and federal grant progress reports and lead the preparation <br />of all required grant reports for Construction Manager review. <br />• Coordinate with resource agency permitting staff ensuring compliance with environmental permit <br />requirements. <br />• Coordinate with Department construction inspectors and prepare draft change orders for Construction <br />Manager review and consideration. <br />• Prepare and manage all project documentation for state and federal audits. <br />• Provide project support services to construction inspectors as directed by the Construction Manager. <br />• Perform project management duties as directed by the Construction Manager. <br />This job description is a summary of the primary functions and expectations for this position.
