4.'l Collaboration * <br />4.2 Promoting Local <br />E'UStness <br />Our collaborations include working with Chinook Entertainment and Chinook Fest <br />and mutually beneficial relationships with regional cider houses, local <br />winery and local craft breweries. <br />WSU's Master Cidernraker program has proven to be a great pattner, and will <br />increase their involvement for 2022. <br />KEEN is a member of the Kitiitas County Chamber of Commerce and our all <br />volunteer board brings connections with CWU, conservaiion groups, and downtown <br />business owners- <br />CWU Recreation and Tourism program provides practicum students to help <br />manage and plan the event and we anticipate that ihey will again be supportive. <br />We were building a partnership with the NorthWest Cider Association. the US <br />regional organization promoting apples, growers,cidermakers and distributors from <br />the Northwest throughout the nation. We will continue to cultivate that relationshrp <br />lar 2021. <br />With them, Cidercraft. and WSU, we will be solidly set as a leader of cider events <br />2500 draracier limil <br />Desclibe hfl,, yoil wrll proriote lodging estabiishnenls. resiauralrls. and business loraled in Kiliitas Couniy <br />On our website, we have links to booking our partner hotel, and booking lodging <br />through MyEllensburg. We also sell RV and camping on-site at the KVEC. Those <br />links are all framed with a "you should take extra time and take a look around <br />Kittitas County" message. <br />That message has been reiterated through facebook posts which lead to the <br />website lodging page and thus bookings. <br />We seek community sponsors for this event- Attached is our 2020 sponsorship <br />campaign. lf we garner local sponsors, their names/logos and so on are listed on <br />banners. tickets, programs, and social media. <br />We also hand out Chamber malerials to all attendees <br />The ultimate purpose of this event is to gain attention for the Yakima Canyon <br />lnterpretive Center project- <br />That in itself is a big-pictr,rre, long-lerm tourist benefit. <br />We want people to take to heart the Kittitas Environmental Education Network <br />message, and become explorers of the Yakima Canyon, the Tearraway Community <br />Forest, the WindFarm, Ginkgo state park, and all the rest. <br />Our mission is to "Connect Community to Nature", and create life-long learners.
