BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2022 - <br />AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON THE LOCAL AGENCY <br />FEDERAL AID PROJECT PROSPECTUS CONSTRUCTION PHASE FOR <br />NORTH THORP HIGHWAY-YAKIMA RIVER BRIDGE CRP 302-20. <br />WHEREAS: The North Thorp Highway -Yakima River Bridge was awarded Federal <br />Funding that will be used for preventative maintenance to extend the life of <br />the structure; and <br />WHEREAS: The existing paint system has failed throughout much of the bridge truss's <br />bottom chord, floor beams, stringers, and bearings. Joint repairs will <br />include strip seals at the ends of the truss and silicon sealant at the floor <br />beams. The truss portal members that have been damaged by traffic <br />impacts will be repaired by heat straightening or replacing members. The <br />concrete spalls at the piers will be repaired and the bridge will be painted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: In preparation to advertise the project for construction in the Spring of <br />2022 Public Works is requesting the Washington State Department of <br />Transportation to release the Federal Funds for construction; and <br />WHEREAS: A Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus must be executed by the <br />Chair acknowledging the project has been reviewed and is consistent with <br />the agency's comprehensive plan for community development; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in <br />the best interest of the public, does hereby approve the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for North Thorp <br />Highway -Yakima River Bridge CRP 302-20. <br />
