The KCCC finds itself in a strong position to sele not just one city in the County, but rather the County as <br />a whole. Uniquely position to advance county wide <br />2. Is this a new position for your organization? If so, please describe why this position is needed. If not' <br />why is it a necessary for this fund to continue to support this posltion? <br />We have seen great success in the recent addition of the SBDC Certified Advisor and our Associate Business <br />Development Coordinator. It is in the best interests of the County to continue to fund this vital position. The <br />work they have done over the last 20 months has saved businesses and jobs. We have been able to assist over <br />350 local businesses during the pandemic. (See attached report) <br />Additionally, we need to be able to support the influx ofbusinesses that are leaving the King County area and <br />relocating to our county which is providing more athactive settings. Our assets are diverse and serve many <br />different industries that are looking for access to major interstates, educated workforce, lower-costs of utilities <br />and rent, commute options, and healthy lifestyles. <br />3. Will your organization be capable of supporting this positlon in the future without support from this <br />fund? Please describe your plan and include target dates for implementation and completion. If no <br />plan is currently in place and/or no plans are being made, please explain why. <br />It is always the goal of the Kittitas County Chamber to be self-sustaining. The public/private partnership is <br />needed in order to support these positions. The work to be accomplished through the Kittitas County Chamber <br />of Commerce is a service to the county and the partners involved. These funds provided through the distressed <br />funds are a source in order to identify and implement required economic development tools, programs and <br />initiatives to further the competitiveness of Kittitas County. <br />The additional request in this application will provide objectives and goals that can be outcome based and <br />include deliverables to measure our success. The development of the sffategic plan will provide target dates for <br />implementation and completion. This planning process will include the best practices of all the partners <br />throughout the county including government agencies, economic development groups, downtown associationso <br />land use and environment agencies, and many others. <br />4. Will this position serve the needs and"/or interests of multiple jurisdictions and/or organizations? <br />Please explain in detail. <br />Absolutely, the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce serves many partners from Vantage to Snoqualmie <br />Pass; and beyond. These three positions will bring expertise locally, state and federally. There will be <br />many positive opportunities with these positions. It will provide best practices in a wide range of goals, it <br />will continue the mantra of the county - working together, and it will solidiff ongoing efforts throughout the <br />county and the projects that are occurring now and in the future. <br />Along with the Kittitas County Chamber board and CEO that serve on committees, state boards, leading <br />business associations and affiliations with influencers throughout the country. The positions will se'lve on <br />local Economic Recovery teams, business associations, non-profit groups, and have regular comrnunication <br />with public health, governor's officeo and others. <br />5.
