4.2 Promoting Local
Business *
)escrihe how you !?ill promote lodqing eslablistrnrents. r-dstaLrrants. and br rsiness localed in Kitiitas Coitnly
Our new website will continue to provide business directory for lodging, food. and
services. The difference will be that the directory will be tagged to a google map and
online tools which make them even more visible through social media and online
search engines. Offering this update mode of search off of our website ties the
Memorial Day Celebration directly to resources a traveler might utilize.
We will continue to add sponsors and donors to our website to help promote their
business. Eastorr has several campgrounds; State, Federal and private which will
also be added to our website. We are in the process of identifying B&B's, VRBO's
and Airbnb's that might like to have additional exposure through ourwebsite.
As we become more familiar with posting on FB and lnstagram, we will have the
ability to tag and / or promote our lodging faciliiies.
We've found that lodging facilities and our businesses like having the postcards, or
small cards on our event. We will continue to use those and include a QR code thai
links back to ourwebsite and the lodging resources we have available.
We have found that people like io look at our YouTube on the parade, see a list of
parade participants and Street Farr vendors. This information and lodging help
attract visitors. in turn promoting overnight stays.
2500 characler
'rnit
4.3 Host Hotel*ls lhere a lrost hotel tor your evenl or qtanl ptojecl? II yes lisl ilre holel.
qNo
Yes.
5l Future Plans
Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. lnclude any plans for ticket sales,
event sponsors, and other cost-recovery models.
Future Plans*We continue to look for ways to help sustain our celebration. Each year we have
been able to increase our sponsorship, we obtained a gambling license to sell more
raffle tickets and ask for donations to support the costs of the celebration. We work
hard to seek additional funding to not only suppod this important event, but to meei
the rising costs associated with hosting events. For example. this year our budget
includes additional costs associated with COVID to ensure we are offering a safe
celebration. We will work hard to increase sales of our successful raffles that we
hold and seeking sponsors and donors in support of the celebration. We are also
seeking additional funding from different sources such as the Suncadia Fund for
Enhancement.
Our committee works hard to identify additional ways to cover the expenses that are
incurred for the Memorial Day Celebration. We now have a gambling license which
will enable us to do additlonal raffles throughout the year.
25BO character limil
Application Questions: Part 4
6l Additional lnformation
Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your
project and its benefit to tourism.
