Response 2.2*
Application Questions . Part 2
Describe lhe prior success of you. everrt/activily,;facility itr attracliotr lourists.
h 2A21 , we conducted a strategic marketing study which identified how we could
strengthen our band-with and practices to increase the visibility of what Cle Elum
offers. We engaged in these findings by increasing our online marketing and
presence. Tlris year alone, our FB post reach has increased by 453%, and our FB
post engagement has increased by '168%. We have also produced event marketing
materials that could be launched through social media, shared by our local
collaboration, and through direci placenrent in the hands of those who are lodging
locally. Another tool that we have engaged in which has given us a sense of our
success in reaching visiiors 50 miles and beyond is that of using QR codes to collect
zip eode information. Our Public Market event cards are an example of successfully
tracking participation from 63 different zip code areas, including 2 countries that
visited during one or market days.
Even with Covid restrictions, our signatirre event, Pioneer Days was a success.
Building on a collaborative framework of offering an event that spans two - three
days and has activities offered from Cle Elum to Ronald, Pioneer Days was planned
with a lot of modifications. These modifications didn't stop visitors or those who
wanied io celebrate our Nation's birthday. Working together, the Cle Elum Downtown
Association was able to maintain the role of bringing everyone together to develop a
marketing plan for a mulii-day, multi-location major event. The report back from
partners was very positive, numbers were manageable, and events well attended.
Lodging facilities appreciated the Pioneer Days event cards that provided their
visitors with current information on what was occurring. This was our first use of the
QR code process and zip code tracking method. We were able to determine that
visitors came from 42 different zip code areas and from as far away as Oregon,
California, Arizona, Montana, Maryland, New York, Georgia and Florida.
2500 character linit
3l lmpact
